Texas Southern University has moved aircraft into its new aviation training facility at Houston Spaceport, marking a major milestone in a partnership with the City of Houston and Houston Airports.
The 20,000-square-foot hangar will serve as a satellite campus for TSU’s aviation program and house the university’s fleet of 12 Cirrus SR20 aircraft acquired in 2025. The facility also includes 4,500 square feet of classroom and office space to support expanded flight training and future aerospace engineering instruction.
An 8,000-gallon fuel tank at the site is expected to support training operations while reducing long-term fuel costs for the program.
Located at Houston Spaceport, the facility strengthens a growing partnership aimed at preparing students for careers in aerospace and aviation while supporting workforce development in one of the region’s fastest-growing sectors.
The completed facility also reinforces Houston Spaceport’s role as a hub for innovation, education and the future of flight.
